Recent Reads...

There are days when our lives get stressful or just plain boring. This has always been a common thing in my past and only recently, I have began experiencing severe amounts of boredom- although my days should be occupied with studies.

Nonetheless, there is always time in our busy schedules, to relax and unwind, even if it is for a second. For me the perfect way to escape stress and boredom, apart from facing it with a 'good movie, hot coco and marshmallows', is to read a good book and escape into another world, filled with excitement. Sounds exciting right?

Recently I have been occupied with re-reading a few books, just to make use of them, they were laying on my bookshelf, begging to be opened.

Although I own a library of books, my current and favourite reads are:

To Kill a Mockingbird- by Harper Lee.
Based on racism in the 1930s, in southern America. This book is a real tear jerker and is in my top favourites.

One day- by David Nicholls.
Based on two students, Dexter and Emma, who meet on the night of their graduation and continue their relationship into the future, it follows their life for the next 20 years. This book is perfect if you love a romantic novel, although sorrow is heavily involved... I shall say no more.

I don’t know how she does it- by Allison Pearson.
Based on a super mum (not literally), who balances her work and family life until exhaustion kicks in. An amazing book for everyone to read.

They F*** You Up- by James Oliver.
This one is the unusual one in my picks. Based on psychology, this book is extremely interesting, with useful tips on life and escaping family drama.

I strongly recommend these books, if you are a bookworm. If you have decent taste in books, you may have stumbled upon these already. If so... great! If not... What are you waiting for?

A Windy City...

Where is the sun? Today was one of those days when the sun was hiding its rays. Windy weathers and my wardrobe do not get along. After minutes of deciding what pieces to put together, I eventually decided black, grey and white tones will be perfect.

Although it is Spring and coloured garments are manifesting, today I felt a little opposed to this and opted for a laid back, yet stylish attire, which is trendy in its own right. A Spring inspired bag completed my outfit and I maintained the Spring feel.

Cardigan- Vintage.
Top- Top Shop.
 Jeans- Zara.
Scarf- Zara.
Boots- Miss Selfridge.
Bag- Marc Jacobs.

Here Comes The Sun...

Hooray for the sun! Today was one of those days when the sun was shining, people were out tanning- ok, maybe it was not as warm, but the ice creams were going down well, with that pleasant smell of the neighbours cooking a barbecue.

A warm, sun filled day, is a rare occasion in England. So if you are reading this and you live in a warmer climate- lets exchange places.

I took the opportunity and raided my wardrobe, to create a look for this blessed day. Although the weather was moderately pleasant, there was no need for me to pack on my huge, black, winter duffel coat, which I have been wearing since November! I know right? One of the many reasons I adore the Spring and Summer seasons, is ditching the thick layers. It feels good, right?

Knit sweater- Zara.
Slacks- Zara.
 Handbag- Zara.
Heels- Aldo.

Macs 'Girl About Town' is hot in pink...

Mac: Girl About Town. Amplified Lipstick.

'Girl About Town' summed up my experience, when deciding on this colour. I was in town and dropped by my nearest Mac department store. I stumbled upon this refreshing pink shade and felt a surge of confidence, then braved the purchase. This is now, my go-to pink shade. Although it is amplified, it does what is says- this shade is screaming on the lips!

Different shades of pink...

However, a beauty tip which I cannot stress enough, is that you can choose the level of intensity for any lip wear; be it a lip tint, lipstick or lip stain. Just by dabbing the colour on your lips, or simply using your fingers as an applicator. If you are feeling confident, go ahead and rock out, with the amplified look.

Dior Addiction

The joys of Spring cleaning. These are the moments many people eagerly wait for, mainly because it is out with the old and in with the new. Unfortunately I cannot say the same, I jumped on the Spring clean band wagon late this year. My attention was divided between my studies and travelling stateside, to New York and spending time with family and friends.

However, when I got around to making a start with cleaning my beauty products, I rediscovered some classic oldies, which are now my newbies- if that makes any sense? To share with you. Three products to be specific, are now my favourites. In no particular order...

The Dior blush, this is the perfect shade for the season and suits all skin tones. It adds a natural flush to the cheeks, which does not scream 'look, I'm orange'. A blend of soft peach and pink tones brighten the complexion, for a sun kissed glow.

The second is the Dior, petite eye shadow pallet. This cute and handy pallet is all your eyes need to look subtle yet alluring. A natural and mild smoky effect can be achieved with this miniature set. Although it is small, it has become my top eyeshadow pallet, in which I can find a shade to suit my mood.

Last but not least, is the Dior Extase mascara; it adds the perfect level of coverage to the lashes, minus the clump. When applied to the lashes it gives a volumized look, it really is glamour for the eyes. False lashes? Ain't nobody got time for that!

Basically Blogging

Hello to each and to all. So here it is, my first blog entry. Why I did not start any sooner, I could not possibly tell you... But it is better late than never, right? Right!

The idea to start my very own blog after reading millions, stemmed from the fact I enjoy distributing constructive advice amongst family and friends, even strangers- I just thought I would throw that one in there. My love for social media and my passions in life combined together, create the perfect concoction for a blog, that and being pestered by my siblings and friends that I should create my very own blog, that it would suit me very well. For the latter, only time can tell how blogging suits me or how I suit blogging... either way, here I am.

I do not want to confuse you with the theme of my blog, it is basically everything that surrounds my life, like a diary- hence my blog title 'Boston's Diary', hopefully there may be elements everyone can relate to.

I welcome you, to step into my world... Life. Fashion. Beauty.

One world, filled with wonder...
